Drosera

Commonly known as sundews, Drosera is the largest genera of carnivorous plants, with nearly 200 known species found around the globe. These plants ensnare unsuspecting insects in the sticky dew produced by their leaves and break down insects through mucilaginous glands attached to their leaf surfaces. The captured insects serve to enhance the nutrient-deficient soil in which these plants thrive.
