Plant Description
Dionaea muscipula 'Dracula' × 'Redline' is a cultivar cross Venus flytrap that combines traits from two well-known red forms. It shows a balanced mix of upright growth and consistent trap colour.
Grown by Mark Griffin, the plant grows with an upright habit. Leaves are long and slender, lifting the traps above the centre of the rosette during active growth. This gives Dionaea muscipula 'Dracula' × 'Redline' a more open structure compared with compact or ground-hugging cultivars.
Trap size is moderate to large. The traps are well-shaped and sit cleanly on the ends of the petioles. Marginal teeth are typical in form, evenly spaced, and frame the trap without distortion.
Colour is a key feature. The trap interiors develop a mid to deep red tone in good light. This colour often spreads evenly across the inner surface, while the outer trap remains green to yellow-green. Some traps may show a slightly darker central band, reflecting the influence of 'Redline', though this can vary between plants.
Growth is steady and reliable. The plant increases in size over time and forms a tidy clump, with traps held clear and well spaced.
