Plant Description
Dionaea muscipula 'VCS' is a compact Venus flytrap clone known for its solid build and strong trap colour. It forms a dense rosette with short leaves that keep the traps close to the centre of the plant.
The plant has a chunky growth habit. Leaves are broad and firm, supporting traps that sit low and face outward. This gives Dionaea muscipula 'VCS' a tight, full appearance, even in smaller pots.
Trap colour is one of its main features. In good light, the interior develops a deep red tone, while the outer trap remains green. Some traps show a strong contrast, with colour extending across most of the inner surface. This colour holds well through the growing season.
The trap shape is rounded and sturdy. Marginal teeth are typical in form, evenly spaced, and frame the trap without distortion. The overall look is clean and balanced, with no extreme features in tooth shape or leaf length.
Growth is steady. The plant divides over time and builds into a thick clump. Because of its compact form, Dionaea muscipula 'VCS' keeps a neat shape as it matures, rather than spreading widely.
