Plant Description
Dionaea muscipula 'Beastie Boy' is a large-growing Venus flytrap cultivar with broad traps, thick growth, and strong red colouration. It grows low on the substrate, often with a flat, spreading shape. Mature plants look chunky, with wide leaves and traps that can reach a large size in good light.
The traps are the main feature. They often develop a dark blood red interior, while the outer lobes stay green or take on red flushing. The cilia are long and heavy, giving each trap a bold outline. This is not a thin or upright clone. It has a Body Movin’ close to the soil, with a habit that feels more Root Down than upright.
Through spring and summer, Dionaea muscipula 'Beastie Boy' can show clear changes in shape and colour. Early traps may look wider and flatter, while later traps often become larger, darker, and heavier. Under strong sun, the red tones build well, and the plant starts to Make Some Noise on the bench without needing odd mutations or Sabotage-style tricks.
Once mature, it can Fight For Your Right to be noticed, especially when the traps reach full size. For growers who like large, red, prostrate flytraps, Dionaea muscipula 'Beastie Boy' is a solid clone with plenty of Ill Communication in its shape.
