Dionaea muscipula 'Microdent'

Plant Description

Dionaea muscipula 'Microdent' is an unusual variety of Venus flytrap. Its name comes directly from its most obvious feature. 'Microdent' refers to the unusually small teeth that line the edges of its trap lobes.

'Microdent' sets itself apart; it produces the smallest teeth of any registered cultivar. A single trap can feature more than 80 of these tiny, bristle-like projections.

The traps themselves develop a strong colour. The lobes, the two halves that close shut, typically show an orange-red hue. This colour can deepen with exposure to bright light. The plant maintains a classic Venus flytrap growth habit, forming a low rosette.

Plant photos above are of our Dionaea muscipula 'Microdent' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold.
