Plant Description

Dionaea muscipula 'Rabbit Teeth' is a distinctive all-green Venus flytrap cultivar known for its unusual trap margins. The plant grows with a low, spreading habit for much of the growing season, although some leaves may become semi-erect as they mature. Its compact shape and bright green colour make it immediately recognisable, even before the traps are examined closely.

The defining feature of Dionaea muscipula 'Rabbit Teeth' is its highly modified dentition. Instead of the long, needle-like cilia found on a typical Venus flytrap, the teeth are broad, widely spaced, and fused together at the base. Each tooth ends in a series of small serrations, creating an appearance that closely resembles the incisors of a rabbit. The teeth are short, blunt, and irregular, giving the traps a softer look than cultivars with long or triangular dentition.

The traps themselves are often broader than those of a standard Venus flytrap and remain bright green throughout the season. Under strong light, some plants may develop faint yellow-green tones, but the cultivar lacks the strong red pigmentation found in many other forms.

Plant photos above are of our Dionaea muscipula 'Rabbit Teeth' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold. Division sizes can vary greatly and will always be sent largest first. If you'd like to know the size of a plant before ordering, please feel free to contact us.
