Plant Description
Dionaea muscipula Stefan Lenssen C (Plantev) is a selected clone known for its pronounced marginal teeth and balanced trap size. This form shows a clear “saw-toothed” appearance, with teeth that are slightly longer and more irregular than in typical forms, but still remain structured and evenly spaced.
Traps develop on upright to semi-erect petioles, giving the plant a tidy, open growth habit. As the plant matures, traps increase in size and become more robust. Mature specimens can produce relatively large traps, with broad lobes that close cleanly and hold their shape well.
Colouration is consistent and well defined. The interior of the trap develops a strong red flush under good light, while the outer surface remains green. This creates a clear contrast between the inside and outside of the trap. Younger traps may show a lighter colour at first, but deepen as they age.
The marginal teeth are a key feature. They appear slightly serrated and uneven in length, giving the trap edge a rough, saw-like outline. Despite this, the teeth still interlock effectively when the trap closes, maintaining normal function.
Growth is steady through the main season, with the plant producing multiple traps in succession. Stefan Lenssen C combines good size, clear colour, and distinct tooth structure, making it easy to separate from standard Dionaea muscipula forms.
