Description of Epipactis palustris (Marsh Helleborine)

Epipactis palustris is marsh helleborine, a native orchid for damp lime rich soils. It produces elegant flowers in summer.

It forms upright stems with narrow leaves and carries pale flowers with pink and brown markings. Height is usually 30 to 60cm.

It prefers moist, alkaline soil and open light.

It establishes slowly but can form colonies in the right conditions.
