Plant Description

Formally known as Sarracenia 'Barbapapa', this is the first Sarracenia to join the Sarracenia House collection! Some say it's the one that started it all!

Sarracenia 'Barba' is clearly a hybrid that contains Sarracenia purpurea but we cannot determine the exact parentage. Possibly something like (S. flava X S. purpurea) X S. purpurea, but that's just an educated guess.

The colours and veination are quite striking as the pitchers transition from green to red. This is a lovely plant if you want something that doesn't grow too tall and is an excellent addition to an outdoors bog garden as well.

Plant photos above are of our Sarracenia 'Barba' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold.
