Plant Description

A cross of Sarracenia flava plants from two different sites in Florida: Blackwater and Wewahitchka. The seeds that produced this clone were originally from Alan at Chruchtown Carnivores.

Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora pitchers are externally dark red with a paler, yellowish interior. The lid is a more typical flava yellow-green with prominent red veination

Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora (Blackwater, Florida X Wewahitchka, Florida) is easy to care for, given the correct conditions. An unheated greenhouse is an ideal location. Here are the 3 golden rules for healthy Sarracenia pitcher plants.

  2. Keep their pots sat in 1-2cm of rainwater.
  3. Use acidic soil. A 1:1 peat moss & perlite mix is typical.
