Description of Sarracenia 'Adesugata'

Sarracenia 'Adesugata' is a complex hybrid pitcher plant. Its name is Japanese for 'elegant', a direct reference to its graceful form. The plant's lineage is Sarracenia [(purpurea x leucophylla) x (purpurea x minor)] x leucophylla.

It produces upright, slender pitchers. These pitchers have a pronounced ruffled hood, a strong feature from its leucophylla ancestry.

The pitcher colouration develops with good light exposure. Mature pitchers show a deep crimson venation on a white or light green background. The throat area often becomes a solid, rich red. The overall effect is a plant with a strong visual appeal.

Its elegant structure makes it a standout in any Sarracenia collection.
