Description of Sarracenia 'Asbo' X × exornata 'Peaches and Cream'

Sarracenia 'Asbo' × 'Peaches and Cream' is a hybrid that combines strong shape and vigour with a softer colour palette. The influence of 'Asbo' can be seen in the broad lid and substantial pitcher structure, while × exornata 'Peaches and Cream' contributes lighter colouring and refined veining.

Pitchers are upright and moderately tall, with a smooth green tube that gradually widens towards the mouth. The body remains largely green throughout the season, allowing the finer details in the upper pitcher to stand out clearly. Veining is present but restrained, becoming more concentrated around the throat and lid.

The upper section is the most distinctive feature. The lid is broad and held well open, creating an almost triangular outline when viewed from the front. A dark red throat patch rises into the column beneath the lid, forming a clear focal point. Fine red veins radiate across the lid from this central area, creating a subtle network against the bright green background.

Unlike heavily pigmented hybrids, this cross relies more on contrast than overall colour saturation. The bright green lid, dark throat marking, and lightly coloured tube create a clean appearance that remains attractive throughout the growing season. In strong light, the throat patch deepens while the lid stays bright, increasing the contrast even further.
