Sarracenia flava var. ornata 'Killer' is a distinct flava originating from a specific locality in Okaloosa County, Florida. Its genetic background is complex, likely resulting from a natural back-cross between Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora or Sarracenia flava var. ornata and another local Sarracenia flava form. This wild inter-varietal hybrid vigour contributes to its unique appearance.

This clone is a slower-growing S. flava var. ornata. Mature plants achieve a maximum height of around 60cm. Its structure is notable. The pitcher has a narrow hood column that flares into a very wide, open top. This creates a distinctive and dramatic silhouette. The interior of the pitcher displays a dark, blotchy pattern.

It produces a flush of spring pitchers. Their impressive size and form often compensate for the plant's generally slow growth rate. This plant exemplifies the fascinating diversity found within natural Sarracenia populations in the American southeast.
