Description of Sarracenia 'Freja'

Sarracenia 'Freja' is a striking and vigorous Sarracenia hybrid created by Stephen Morley by crossing Sarracenia × excellens with Sarracenia 'Victoria Morley'. It has compact pitchers that typically reach 30–35 cm in height. The pitchers emerge in a delicate greenish-pink hue but rapidly transition to a vibrant bright pink under sunlight. As they mature, older pitchers can develop an intense dark purple coloration, dominating other tones.  

One of the most distinctive features of 'Freja' is the prominent network of green veins that starkly contrast against the outer surface of the pitcher, especially near the front. 

Adding to its charm, 'Freja' produces lovely pink-petaled flowers. This cultivar is highly prolific, continuously producing pitchers throughout the summer and demonstrating remarkable vigour, quickly forming dense clumps through frequent division. A standout Sarracenia for both its beauty and hardiness!

Plant photos above are of our Sarracenia 'Freja' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold.
