Description of Sarracenia × moorei 'Leelou's'

Sarracenia 'Leelou's' is a cultivated hybrid between Sarracenia × moorei 'Wilkerson's White Knight' and Sarracenia × moorei 'Wilkerson’s Red'. The cross combines two well-known Wilkerson clones, producing a plant that shows the best of both parents. The name comes from breeder Cédric Azais, who named it after his daughter, Leelou.

The pitchers start out with a soft pink tone that deepens as the season moves on. With good light, the colour shifts into a strong red while keeping lighter areas near the lip and upper tube. The white from ‘Wilkerson’s White Knight’ gives a clean contrast to the red from ‘Wilkerson’s Red’, and the result is a balanced, layered look. 

Sarracenia 'Leelou’s' grows upright with tall, elegant pitchers that show a clear flaring lid and a smooth profile. It holds its colour well into late autumn, especially in full sun. The plant keeps the classic moorei shape, with wide mouths and a strong build.

Plant photos above are of our Sarracenia × moorei 'Leelou's' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold.
