Description of Sarracenia 'Liquorice Lips'

Sarracenia 'Liquorice Lips' is a rare and distinct cultivar, highly prized by collectors. Its origins trace back to a batch of seedlings at PJ Plants. The specific plant that became 'Liquorice Lips' was selected and grown on by Ian Salter, from whom all current divisions originate.

This pitcher plant is notably compact, reaching a mature height of only 35 to 45 centimetres. Its form consists of upright pitchers topped with elegant, overarching hoods. The colouration is its most striking feature. The tubes and hoods display a deep, glowing, deep red-purple hue.

The lip, or peristome, and the interior of the pitcher are an intense, near-black purple. This dramatic dark lip gives the plant its 'Liquorice Lips' name. The contrast between the mahogany body and the dark lip is exceptional. This combination makes it a standout specimen in any Sarracenia collection.

Division sizes can vary greatly and will always be sent largest first. If you'd like to know the size of a plant before ordering, please feel free to contact us.
