Description of Sarracenia 'Pink Thing'

Sarracenia 'Pink Thing' is a distinctive and beautiful hybrid pitcher plant. Its exact parentage remains unknown, but it strongly resembles a Sarracenia leucophylla with a unique structural twist.

The plant's most notable feature is its large, floppy hood. This hood curves dramatically over the trap opening, creating a graceful, overhanging lid. This form distinguishes it from many other upright trumpet-shaped Sarracenia.

Its colouration develops superbly throughout the year. The pitcher body and hood display a delicate pink hue. This colour becomes very colourful and intense during the autumn months, creating a superb display.

'Pink Thing' produces pitchers that are both elegant and functional. The pink venation patterns against a lighter background help attract insect prey into its specialised traps. This hybrid is a standout selection for any carnivorous plant collection due to its form and autumn colour.
