Sarracenia rubra subsp. alabamensis AL003 comes from a secret site in central Alabama. The exact location stays protected to keep wild plants safe. The AL003 area is open, wet, and sunny. Water moves over a slow, gentle slope. Growth stays steady through the warm season, thanks to high light and constant moisture.

Pitchers stay slender and upright. They usually reach around 30 cm. Colour varies with exposure. Strong sun brings deeper reds, especially near the upper parts of the pitcher. In lower light, the surface can look greener. The lid arches over the opening to guide insects inside.

Late spring flowers appear before the pitchers reach full height. They hang down on tall stalks and show a red tone that may match the mature traps later in the season.
