Description of Sarracenia 'Tygo'

Sarracenia 'Tygo' is a vigorous and easy-to-grow hybrid Sarracenia. It was developed by the nursery Carni Flora and named for the grandson of its founder, René.

The plant shows a strong genetic influence from Sarracenia flava. This heritage is can be seen in its tall, upright pitchers. Each pitcher develops a rich copper or bronze colouration. The entire tube and lid are covered in a fine, coppery pubescence.

A defining characteristic is the lid's rim. This area, known as the lip, remains a contrasting light green. The pitchers are robust, and the plant grows with great strength.

Sarracenia 'Tygo' produces flowers in spring. The blooms are a pink colour, held high above the pitchers.

Plant photos above are of our Sarracenia 'Tygo' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold.
