Description of Sarracenia 'Constance Healy'

Sarracenia 'Constence Healy' is a Stunning Sarracenia cultivar. It was developed by Nigel Hewitt-Cooper in 1999. He named it for his maternal grandmother.

This plant is a sister seedling to the well-known Sarracenia 'Joyce Cooper'. Both share the same parentage. They resulted from a cross between a red Sarracenia x catesbaei and the cultivar Sarracenia moorei 'Brooks Hybrid'.

Its most recognisable feature is its wide, flared pitcher lids. These lids can develop a subtle blue tinge along their margins. This colouration appears during periods of intense summer sunlight. The plant produces tall, upright pitchers with attractive venation.

In spring, Sarracenia 'Constence Healy' produces flowers. These are a rich magenta-red colour. They appear on tall stems held above the pitchers.

Plant photos above are of our Sarracenia 'Constance Healy' mother plants. Divisions are taken from the mother plants and are planted into 9cm pots to be sold. Division sizes can vary greatly and will always be sent largest first. If you'd like to know the size of a plant before ordering, please feel free to contact us.
